Fall fashion brings us some delightful outerwear trends. Some are classics that come back every season (hello, fur trimmings!) and some are more edgy and fashion fickle (punchy colors and capes!).

Meet my favorites of the bunch:

CAPES! Yes, capes. The little red riding hood look is cute and comfy and currently a “fashion do”. I can’t guarantee they’ll be as hot next year, but if you buy one in a neutral color and flattering style it will keep in your closet til the trend makes its way back to the runways.

RAINBOW BRIGHTS! Coats in bold colors are a hit this season. It’s a chance to wear a color you wouldn’t otherwise. And the coat stands alone; that means you don’t need to worry about matching the rest of your outfit.

A DOSE OF FUR! My absolute favorite outerwear trend - glam all the way. This one will never go out of style. Try a fur collared wool coat, jean or leather jacket, or a light sweater.
