(This article originally appeared in the Jewish Press column “Beauty and the Bellabusta.”)
I am always amazed at the frum women around me. So many women gracefully balance being beautifully in fashion with being balebustes as well – in other words, they’re Bellabustas! Even the most current fashions can be modestly modified. Let’s have a glimpse at four off-the-runway fall trends that can easily be adapted for any Bellabusta.
Fall Trend #1 = Brightly Colored Pants → Brightly Colored Skirts
This modest fashion revision is a no-brainer. Saturated neons were all over the fall runways in the form of pants, but skirts can do the job just as well. Pair a brightly colored solid skirt with a crisp white tailored top, neutral cardigan or with a shirt in a contrasting color (e.g. yellow skirt + blue shirt).

The Pantone Fashion Color Report puts together the most popular colors in fashion that designers are using. These rich shades are where we are headed for fall, and you’re likely to be seeing many of them every time you shop.
Not only are these colors stunning, they also synchronize beautifully. I fashioned 3 different fall outfits based on two coordinating colors from Pantone’s picks.
Combo #1 - coffee liqueúr & nougat
These subdued colors combine in a thoroughly modern way. For the ultimate sophistication, pair them with warm autumnal accents such as bordeaux and evergreen.

The fall 2011 runways were filled with fresh and exciting beauty looks. Three trends in particular are super-simple to achieve at home. I put together some runway inspirations and a real-life interpretation for each of the fall beauty looks.

These flushed cheeks look so pretty and feminine on Chavi. With a heavy hand, apply a bright pink blush on the apples of the cheeks to get this porcelain doll effect (this look is probably best saved for those with very pale skin.)
